CHAP. 169.

Approval required

ers of the said ground and premises shall not proceed to
shut up and close the said part of the said Street, unless
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, approve of and
ratify this act.

Notice required

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That before the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore aforesaid, shall pass any ordi-
nance or resolution approving of this act, they shall cause
public notice to be given of any application to confirm and
approve this act, by advertisement insetted for one week
in all the daily newspapers piinted in the said city, the ex-
pences of which advertisement shall be paid by the party
applying to have this act confirmed.

 

CHAPTER 169.

Passed Mar.7, 1834

An Act for the benefit of Albertina Anna Neilson of the
City of Baltimore.

Preamble

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General As-
sembly by the petition of Mrs. Alberfina Anna Neilson a
native of Demerara, widow of Jnmes C. Neilson late of
the City <jf Baltimore deceased, that on her marriage ia the
year eighteen hundred and eleven she came with her said
husband, who was a citizen of the United States, to reside
in the said City of Baltimore in this state, find continued
so to reside until the death of her said husband in the year
eighteen hundred and twenty-three; when she with her
children left this country for Europe intending to remain
there during the life of her mother, and afterwards to return
to this State, and permanently reside here, and that in pur-
suance of such intention she with her said children did re-
turn to this State in the month of August last, and now re-
sides in the City of Baltimore afore; aid where she has
acquired some real estate; and whereas, it is doubtful
whether the said Albertina Anna Neilson under the exist-
ing Laws would be immediately entitled to the rights of
citizenship, and it appearing reasonable that she should be
authorised and empowered to hold Lands and real Estate
within this state in the same manner and with the same
rights and privileges as if she had been regularly naturali-
zed — Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
