CHAP. 165.

CHAPTER 164.

Passed Mar. 7, 1834

A Supplement to the act entitled, an act to incorporate the'
Central Savings Institution of Baltimore.

Deposits may be
converted into
stock

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That every weekly depositor who shall have deposited one
or more dollars per week, in the Central Savings Institu-
tion of Baltimore, for six months or upwards, in the man-
ner authorised by the act to which this is a supplement,
may, at his or her option, by signing an agreement to that
effect in a book to be provided for the purpose, convert the
same or any adequate portion thereof into a share or shares
of stock of the par value of twenty six dollars each,
which shall be deemed capital stock of the said institution;
and the deposite so converted into stock shall not be liable
to be withdrawn; the said shares of stock shall be assign-
able by transfer, by the holder in person or by attorney, in
a book to be kept by the institution for that purpose, and

Dividends thereon

shall be entitled to a due proportion of dividends of the
profits, in common with the weekly deposites; aud every
member of ttie institution shall be entitled at each meeting
of the corporation for electing Directors or any other pur-
pose, to give One vote in person or by proxy, for each share
of stock, he or she shall hold at the time of such meeting;

Proviso

Provided always, that the whole number of shares of stock,
which it shall be lawful thus to create, shall not exceed
twenty thousand, and that the Directors of the institution,
in their discretion may limit the number to ten thousand, or
to any greater number not exceeding twenty thousand
shares.

An act for the relief of James Todd and Eber F. Cook, in-
solvent Dibtors.

Insolvent laws ex-
tended to

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of insolvent debtors, for the city
and county of Baltimore, and the Judges of Baltimore
county court respectively, be and they are hereby authori-
sed and empowered to grant to James Todd and Eber F,
Cook, of the city of Baltimore, the benefit of the several
acts of Assembly, passed for the relief of insolvent debt-
