A Supplement to the act, entitled, an act to provide for elect-
ing the Levy court of Queen Anne's county by the people.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That after the next election which shall take
place for members of the Levy court, in Queen Anne's
county, and at the first meeting of the same, they shall write
the numbers, one, two, three, four and five, on separate
tickets, add deposite the same in a hat, and shall proceed
each member to draw from the hat a ticket, and the mem-
ber of said court who shall draw the ticket on which the
number one is written, shall cease to be a member of said
court after the first Monday of October, then next the one
drawing ticket number two, to cease to be a member after
the first Monday in October, eighteen hundred and thirty
six, the one drawing ticket number three, to cease being a
member after the first Monday of Octooer, eighteen hun-
dred and thirty seven, the one drawing ticket number four
to cease being a member after the first Monday in October,
eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, and the one drawing
ticket number five, to cease being a member afler the first
Monday in October, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine; pro-
vided, that nothing in this section contained shall be con-
strued to prevent the re-election of any member of the said
Levy court.

Seo. 2. And be it enacted, That on the first Monday of
October, eighteen hundred and thirty-five, the voters of the
county snail proceed to elect a member of the court to fill
the vacancy which shall be created by the place of num-
ber one, being vacated in the same manner as they are now
directed to elect members for said court, and so on, to fill

all such vacancies as may happen, which person or persons
so elected, shall hold their office for the space of five years
from their being elected as aforesaid, except in the cases
hereinafter provided for, and the sheriff shall give notice
as he is now required, that a member jof the Levy court
for the district in which the vacancy has occured is to be
