SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Institution of

land, That Chapter 298, passed at the January Session of the
|
suits.
|
General Assembly in the year of 1892, and entitled "An Act
|
 
|
to regulate the institution of suits before justices of the peace
|
 
|
in Kent Count," be and the same is hereby repealed.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
|
 
|

CHAPTER 568.
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal Section 17, Article 53, of the Code of Pub-
|
 
|
lic General Laws, title ''Landlord and Tenant," as repealed
|
 
|
and re-enacted by the Act of 1880, Chapter 310, exempting
|
 
|
certain articles from distress for rent, and to re-enact the
|
 
|
same with amendments.
|
 
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
landlord and

land, That Section 17 of Article 53 of the Code of Public
|
tenant.
|
General Laws, title "Landlord and Tenant," as repealed and
|
 
|
re-enacted by the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
 
|
passed at the Session of 1880, Chapter 310, be and the same
|
 
|
is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
|
 
|
as follows :
|
 
|
17. The following property shall be exempt from distress

for rent, to wit : Every spinning wheel, loom, sewing ma-

chine, typewriter, stove, piano, organ or other musical instru-

ment rented, hired or loaned to the tenant ; and every horse,
|

carriage and harness, whip and robe, saddle and bridle, not
|
 
|
the property of the tenant, in any livery stable, or which may
|
 
|
be stored with any keeper of any livery stable, or in any other
|
 
|
place, outhouse or barn of the tenant ; and all property of any
|
 
|
boarder or sojourner at any hotel, tavern, public or private
|
 
|
boarding house ; and any vehicle not the property of the tenant
|
 
|
in any shop for repair.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
