less called for the purpose of quelling a disturbance or in the

 

discharge of any duty imposed upon them by law ; and any

 

officer or officers who shall violate this section shall be dis-

 

missed, after a hearing and proof of a violation thereof, by

 

the board or authorities who appointed them.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 557.

 

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 4,

 

of Chapter 102 of the Acts of 1806. entitled "An Act to pro-

 

vide for the formation of farmers' institutes in the State of

 

Maryland, and to appropriate a sum of money therefor," as

 

amended by Chapter 363 of the Acts of 1900.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
