106. The said primary elections shall be held under the aus-

pices of the county committee of the party holding said primary
|

under, and the chairman of said committee shall, by advertise-
|
 
|
ment inserted in at least two newspapers published in said
|
 
|
county, once a week for three successive weeks in the month
|
 
|
of July in the year in which said primary election is held
|
 
|
under this Act (and the chairman of the committee as here-
|
 
|
inafter to be formed, shall give the same notice for all primary
|
 
|
elections to be held after first such primary election), give
|
 
|
notice to all persons desiring to become candidates of said
|
 
|
party holding such primary at the succeeding general elec-
|
 
|
tion, of the time and places of such, and warning such can-
|
 
|
didates to give said chairman notice in writing of the office
|
 
|
for which he shall be a candidate for nomination, which said
|
 
|
notice must be given not less than twenty days before the
|
 
|
day set for said primary election, and must be accompanied
|
 
|
by the fee hereinafter required for the purpose of defraying
|
 
|
the expenses of such election ; and if said notice from the
|
 
|
candidate is not given within the time required, his name shall
|
 
|
not appear printed upon the ballot hereinafter required under
|
 
|
the designation of office for which he is a candidate, and his
|
 
|
name shall not appear as a candidate or nominee of said party
|
 
|
for said office upon the ballot used at the succeeding general
|
 
|
election. If after due notice no candidate complies with this
|
 
|

107. After notice given to the chairman, as aforesaid, it shall

be the duty of the said chairman to have printed on white

paper in black ink a ballot conforming to the ballot now used

to be used.

at the next general election, with the names of the respective
|

candidates for nomination for said offices, arranged in alpha-

betical order, in groups under the office designated with a
|
 
|
square opposite the name of each candidate not less than one
|

inch square, all printing or lettering to be uniform throughout
|
 
|
said ballot, all ballots being uniform in size, type, and charac-
|
 
|
ter throughout said county, and all names of offices and candi-
|
 
|
dates to be printed with capital letters. At the top of each
|
 
|
group must be printed how many persons may be voted for, for
|
 
|
the respective places. If there shall be more persons voted or
|
 
|
marked for any office than there are persons to be voted for
|
 
|
at the general election, then the ballot shall be defective as
|
 
|
to that particular place or group and the balance of said ballot
