CHAPTER 496.

 

AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 22 of the Code

 

of Public Local Laws, title "Washington County," sub-title

 

"Hancock," to follow Section 241 and to be designated as

 

Section 241A, giving power to the Burgess and Commis-

 

sioners of Hancock to regulate, license and tax restaurants,

 

breweries and all saloons and other places where malt,

 

spirituous, vinous and fermented liquors are sold.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That an additional section be added to Article 22 of the

Hancock,

Code of Public Local Laws, title "Washington County," sub-

as Section 241 A, and to read as follows :

 

241A. The Burgess and Commissioners of Hancock be and

 

are hereby authorized and empowered to pass an ordinance

vinous and fermented liquors are sold within the corporate

 

limits of the town of Hancock ; provided, that no sum smaller

 

than twenty-five dollars and no sum greater than one hundred

 

dollars per annum be charged for any one license ; and pro-

 

vided, further, that any ordinance passed in pursuance hereof,

 

the penalty for violation of the same shall not be greater than

 

a fine of one hundred dollars, or in default of payment thereof

 

confinement in the jail of Washington County for a period not

 

exceeding ninety days.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 497.

 

AN ACT to repeal Sections 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212 and

 

213 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title

 

"Dorchester County," sub-title "Liquors and Intoxicating

 

Drinks," and the amendments thereto made by the General

 

Assembly of Maryland, as follows, to wit: by Chapter 595

 

of the Acts of 1890, Chapter 60 of the Acts of 1894, Chapter

 

234 of the Acts of 1896, and Chapters 433 and 438 of the

 

Acts of 1898 in so far as said sections and said amendments
