SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That Section 325 of Article 22 of the Code of Public
|
"Intoxicating
drinks."
|

ing Drinks," as the same was amended by Chapter 214 of the

Acts of 1898, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-en-
|
 
|
acted with an amendment so as to read as follows:
|
 
|
325. Any person under the age of twenty-one years who
|
 
|
shall enter a saloon or other place where intoxicating, spirit-
|

uous or fermented liquors or lager beer are sold, and shall

|
ask, demand or offer to purchase of the proprietor or owner
|
 
|
thereof, or his agent, any intoxicating, spirituous or fermented
|
 
|
liquors or lager beer kept for sale therein, or who shall know-
|
 
|
ingly and wilfully make any misrepresentation or false state-
|
 
|
ment as to his age, and by reason of such misrepresentation
|
 
|
or false statement shall obtain any spirituous or fermented
|
 
|
liquors or lager beer, under the laws of this State shall be
|
 
|
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
|
 
|
shall be fined not more than twenty-five dollars or imprisoned
|
 
|
in jail for not more than thirty days, or both fine and im-
|
 
|
prisonment, in the discretion of the court; and if any person,
|
 
|
not a minor, shall obtain for and furnish any minor any spirit-
|
 
|
uous or fermented liquors or lager beer from a licensed dealer
|
 
|
he shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-

viction thereof shall be fined not more than fifty dollars or be

|
confined in jail not more than sixty days.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
|

CHAPTER 485.
|
 
|
AN ACT requiring roving bands of nomads, commonly called
|
 
|
gypsies, and the persons composing such bands, who have no
|
 
|
permanent place of abode in the State of Maryland, to take
|
 
|
out a license to pitch or settle its or their encampment or
|
 
|
carry on its or their transactions or practice their craft within
|
 
|
the limits of any county of this State, and prescribing the
|
 
|
penalty for a violation of the same.

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall not be lawful for any roving bands of no-
