street extended eastward to Henry street; thence by such line

(the Basin). The said company also to have the right to con-

 

struct such necessary and suitable sidings, switches and branch

 

tracks as may be required for its operations, and to enable it

 

to connect with the various places of business, water fronts,

 

etc., along the proposed line, being the route described and set

 

forth in said ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of Balti-

 

more and the acts and deeds of the said corporations heretofore

 

had and done in the construction of said railroad under the

 

terms and by the route set forth in said ordinance, be and the

 

same are hereby ratified and confirmed.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Western Maryland

Spring Gar-
dens bridge.

Tidewater Railroad Company be and the same is expressly au-

 

thorized and empowered to construct and maintain the bridge

 

over the Middle Branch of the Patapsco river, commonly called

 

Spring Gardens, which is described and set forth in Section I

 

of this Act in the manner therein provided for.

 

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said Western Maryland

Acquisition of
land, streams

Tidewater Railroad Company be and the same is hereby vested

with all powers and authorities necessary for the acquisition of

 

such land, earth, gravel, stone, timber, streams or materials or

 

of any improvements thereon or rights therein, which the presi-

 

dent and directors of said company require for the proper con-

 

struction or repair of any of the routes or of branches there-

 

from, authorized either by the original charter of said corpora-

 

tion or of any Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland amen-

 

datory thereto, or of this Act, either by purchase from the owner

 

or owners, or by condemnation, and whether the property

 

so to be acquired is in the City of Baltimore or in any of the

 

counties of the State, and in the exercise of the right of con-

 

demnation of any property so required by the Western Mary-

 

land Tidewater Railroad Company, in the construction of its

 

railroad along the route set forth in its original charter or of

 

any route authorized by the amendment of said charter, or

 

by this Act or in the construction of any branch or branches

 

from any or all of said routes, it shall be entitled to exercise

 

all the rights and powers of condemnation in the same man-

 

ner as the right of condemnation is authorized to be exercised

 

under the General Laws of this State, applicable to condemna-
