CHAPTER 420.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 19 of the Code of
|
 
|
Public Local Laws, title "St. Mary's County," to be known
|
 
|
as Section 119 of said Article.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|

County," to be known as Section 119 of said Article.

119. The clerk to the Board of Supervisors of Elections for

St. Mary's County shall receive a salary of one hundred dollars
|
clerk.

per year for services to said Board, to be paid by the County
|
 
|
Commissioners of said county, after the account for services of
|
 
|
said clerk has been approved by the said Board of Supervisors
|
 
|
of Elections.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
|
 
|
the date of its passage.
|
 
|

CHAPTER 421.
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal Section 2 of Article 59 of the Code of Public
|
 
|
Genera] Laws, entitled "Lunatics and Insane," and to re-en-
|
 
|
act the same with amendments.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
Lunatics and
|
land, That Section 2 of Article 59 of the Code of Public General
|
insane.

Laws, entitled "Lunatics and Insane," be and the same is here-
|
 
|
by repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
2. From and after the first clay of January, 1909, the State
|

of Maryland shall be charged with the maintenance, care, con-

trol and treatment of all dependent insane persons who are at
|
 
|
that time residents of the State of Maryland. And as soon as prac-
|
 
|
ticable after the said first day of January, 1900, the State Board
|
 
|
of Lunacy shall transfer from the several county almshouses
|
 
|
and county and city asylums to one of the State hospitals for
|
 
|
the insane such dependent insane persons who are residents of
|
 
|
the State of Maryland as in the judgment of the said Board of
|
 
|
Lunacy should be so removed ; and all such dependent insane
|
 
|
persons, after their removal to one of the State hospitals for
|
 
|
the insane, shall be maintained therein at the expense of the
|
 
|
State. In furtherance of the purposes of this Act a commission
|
 
|
shall be appointed by the Governor, of which he shall be a
|
 
|
member ex-officio, consisting of the Lunacy Commission, who
|
 
|
shall report to the Legislature on or before the 15th day of
|
 
|
January, 1906, such amendments to the present law regulating
|
 
|
the care and treatment of the insane and such other measures,
|
