this Act the said Commissioners shall designate the boundary

 

of the territory over which said officer appointed, under the

 

provisions of this Act, shall have jurisdiction. All Acts or parts

 

of any Act inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect from

 

the first day of May in the year 1904.

CHAPTER 418.

 

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of

 

Julius Phipps, for services rendered as fireman of the Senate

 

at the Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1902.

To pay fire-

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

man of
State

land, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby directed to draw

Senate.

his warrant upon the Treasurer, in favor of Julius Phipps, for

 

the sum of forty dollars, for services rendered as fireman of

 

the Senate at the Session of the General Assembly of 1902,

 

which services were not paid for out of the appropriation for

 

said session.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from

 

the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 419.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commission-

 

ers of St. Mary's County to levy a sum of money, not exceed-

 

ing five hundred dollars, to build a school house for white

 

children at or near Valley Lee in the Second Election Dis-

 

trict of St. Mary's County.

Funds for a

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to levy a sum

 

of money, not exceeding five hundred dollars, for the building

 

of a school house for white children at or near Valley Lee in

 

the Second Election District of St. Mary's County.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Board of County School

contract.

Commissioners; of said county shall contract for the building of

 

said school house by bids in the usual form, awarding the same

 

to the lowest responsible bidder ; provided, said bid does not

 

exceed five hundred dollars.

 

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from

 

the date of its passage.
