CHAPTER 422.

 

AN ACT to repeal Section 258 of Article 13 of the Code of

 

Public Local Laws, title "Harford County," sub-title "Taxes

 

and County Treasurer," as enacted bv the Acts of 1898,

 

Chapter 204, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted bv the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That Section 258 of the" Code of Public LocalXaws, title

 

"Harford County," sub-title "Taxes and County Treasurer," as

 

enacted by the Acts of 1898, Chapter 201, be and the same is

 

Hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

To elect by

ballot.

258. At the next general election to be held in Harford

 

County on the Tuesday next after the first Monday in Novem-

 

ber, 1903, and on the same day in every fourth year thereafter,

 

the qualified voters of said county shall elect by ballot a Treas-

 

urer of said county, who shall be a person skilled in accounts,

 

a resident and qualified voter of said county, and not less than

 

twenty-five years of age, whose term of office shall be for a

 

period of four years, from the first clay of May succeeding his

 

election.

CHAPTER 424.

 

AN ACT to refund to Mrs. Clara Hamilton, of Washington

 

County, a sum of money erroneously paid by her into the

 

Treasury of the State.

To refund

WHEREAS, Mrs. Clara Hamilton, of Washington County, er-

over-paid
taxes.

roneously paid to the Collector of State Taxes of said county

 

the sum of ten dollars for the year 1901, the proportion

 

of the county taxes on the same assessment for the year men-

 

tioned, has been asked to be refunded to her by giving authority

 

to the County Commissioners of Washington County to refund

 

the same ; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Alary-

rant.

land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby

 

authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treasurer

 

of Maryland to pay Mrs. Clara Hamilton, of Washington

 

County, the sum of ten dollars, State taxes erroneously

 

paid by her into the Treasury of Maryland for the year above

 

mentioned.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from

 

the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 425.

 

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Cambridge and Chesa-

 

peake Railroad Company, and ratify the proceedings of the
