CHAPTER 286.

 

AN ACT to amend Article 53 of the Code of Public General

 

Laws of Maryland, title ''Landlord and Tenant." by adding

 

a new section thereto, to be known as Section 26A.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That Article 53 of the Code of Public General Laws of

 

Maryland, title "Landlord and Tenant," be amended by adding

 

an additional section thereto, to be known as Section 26A, to

 

follow Section 26 and to read as follows :

 

26A. In all leases made after the first day of June, 1904,

not more than seven years, shall become untenantable by reason

 

of fire or unavoidable accident, the tenancy shall be thereby

 

terminated, and all liability for rent thereunder shall cease

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.
