with a detailed statement of its cost, and the amount and cost of

material and labor on each road.

215. The Allegany County Road Engineer shall, on or before
|

the tenth day of each month, furnish to the Road Directors an
|

itemized statement of all expenditures made upon public roads
|
 
|
and bridges of the county during the preceding month, includ-
|
 
|
ing cost of material used on such road and the amount of
|
 
|
labor performed, and shall certify as to the correctness of each
|
 
|
statement ; and the said Road Directors, if they find such state-
|
 
|
ment to be correct, shall pay the sum by drawing warrants
|
 
|
upon the Treasurer of Allegany County, as hereinafter pro-
|
 
|
vided ; and all expenditures costing over fifty dollars on the pub-
|
 
|
lic roads or bridges in Allegany County shall be under the
|
 
|
supervision of said engineer.
|
 
|
216. Each Road Director shall be entitled to receive $200
|
Compensation.
|
per annum to cover his personal expenses, and said Directors
|
 
|
shall be subject to removal for neglect or refusal to comply
|
 
|
with the duties of their office by the Governor of State ; and if
|
 
|
any of the Directors shall resign or be removed, his place shall
|
 
|
be filled by appointment by the remaining Directors within
|
 
|
thirty days after any vacancy shall occur, and he shall be
|
 
|
of the same political faith as his predecessors, and two Directors
|
 
|
shall always be of different political faith from that of the
|
 
|
other two.
|
 
|
216A. The Road Directors herein provided for shall take
|

County and shall see that no obstructions, hindrances or injury

are or is permitted upon any road or bridge under their super-

vision, and any person placing any obstruction of any kind

shall be liable to a fine of not less than five dollars nor more
|
 
|
than twenty-five dollars for each and every offence, which may
|
 
|
be imposed by the justice of the peace upon the complaint of
|
 
|
the Road Directors or. Engineer, and the person so placing
|
 
|
the said obstruction on the public roads or in the side ditches
|
 
|
thereto shall be liable to a fine of not less than five dollars
|
 
|
nor more than twenty-five dollars for each day that he permits
|
 
|
said obstruction to remain after the expiration of two days from
|
