CHAPTER 203.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 241 and 244 of Article i of Code
|
 
|
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany County,''
|
 
|
sub-title "Westernport;" and to repeal Sections 243 and
|
 
|
249 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
|
 
|
"Allegany County," sub-title "Westernport," as repealed and
|
 
|
re-enacted by Chapter 135 of the Acts of 1890; and Chapter
|
 
|
5 of the Acts of 1892, and to re-enact the same with amend-
|
 
|
ments.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That Sections 241 and 244 of Article 1 of the Code of
|

ernport," and that Sections 243 and 249 of Article 1 of the

Code of Public Local Laws, title "Allegany County," sub-title

"Westernport," as amended and re-enacted by Chapter 135
|
 
|
of the Acts of 1890, and Chapter 5 of the Acts of 1892, be and
|
 
|
the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as
|
 
|
follows :
|
 
|
241. The citizens of the town of Westernport, in Allegany
|
 
|
County, are constituted and made a body corporate by the
|

perpetual succession, and the word "Commissioners," when

used in the charter of the town of Westernport, shall be con-

243. The male citizens of said town of Westernport of the

|
age of twenty-one years and "upwards, being citizens of the-

United States and the State of Maryland, and who shall have

resided in said town for and during a space of six months
|

next preceding any municipal election, shall be qualified to
|
 
|
vote at any municipal election of officers in said town, and the
|

qualified voters are hereby authorized, on the second Monday
|
 
|
in January, in the year 1905, and biennially thereafter, at the
|
 
|
usual place of holding elections in said town, or such place as
|
 
|
shall be designated by the Commissioners of Westernport,
|
 
|
to elect one person, who shall have resided within the limits
|
 
|
thereof at least two years next preceding said election, as
|
 
|
Mayor of the town of Westernport, and the Mayor shall serve

until his successor is elected and qualified, and shall preside
