CHAPTER 195.
|
 
|
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Howard
|
 
|
County to issue bonds to procure money for the repairing of
|
 
|
roads, bridges and culverts in Howard County, and to levy
|
 
|
a tax for the payment of the same.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That whenever a majority of the registered voters of
|

petition with the County Commissioners of Howard County

bridges, etc.

requesting- them to issue bonds, the proceeds arising from

the sale of such bonds to be applied to the building or re-

pairing of county roads, bridges and culverts in that district.

|
The said County Commissioners are hereby authorized and
|
 
|
directed to issue bonds to an amount not exceeding twenty-
|
 
|
five thousand dollars in sums of not less than one hundred
|
 
|
dollars nor more than one thousand dollars, each to be signed
|
 
|
by the president of the Board of County Commissioners and
|
 
|
countersigned by the clerk of the said board; said bonds to
|
 
|
bear interest at a rate not exceeding four per cent, per annum,
|
 
|
payable semi-annually on the first day of January and June
|
 
|
in each and every year, and the coupons of interest on said
|
