WHEREAS, In the year 1899, when Alfred Fowble was elected

an additional clerk from the first day of December, 1899, until

the seventh day of April. 1900, when said clerk hire was by

Act increased to two thousand seven hundred dollars, said ad-

ditional clerk having between said dates been employed in order
|
 
|
to get the work done in said office, the said Alfred Fowble was
|
 
|
obliged to pay out of his own salary two hundred and ninety-
|
 
|
one dollars and sixty-six cents to the said clerk between said
|
 
|
dates.

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|

land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore County

be and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay to the
|
 
|
said Alfred Fowble, ex-Treasurer of Baltimore County and
|
 
|
collector of State and county taxes for said county, the sum
|

of two hundred and ninety-one dollars and sixty-six cents,
|
 
|
being the amount of money paid by him for clerk hire as be-
|
 
|
fore mentioned in the preamble of this Act.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
|
 
|

CHAPTER 191.

AN ACT to repeal Section 68B of Article 20 of the Code of
|
 
|
Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Cris-
|
 
|
field," as amended by the Acts of 1902, Chapter 309, and to
|
 
|
re-enact the same with amendments.
|
 
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That Section 68B of Article 20 of the Code' of Public
|
 
|
Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Crisfield," as
|
 
|
amended by the Acts of 1902, Chapter 309, be and the same
|
 
|
is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

68B. Every bailiff, before entering upon his duties, shall
