SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 184.

 

AN ACT to provide for the selecting, drawing and sum-

 

moning of jurors for Talbot County.

 

SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

 

land, That it shall be the duty of the County Treasurer of

Providing for

Talbot County to make out and file with the Clerk of the

selecting,

drawing and

Circuit Court for said county not less than twenty days before

summoning

the third Monday in January, in each and every year, a full

jurors.

and complete list of all the male taxable residents of said

 

county whose names appear on the tax books thereof, and who

 

are not known to said Treasurer to be under the age of twen-

 

ty-five years, to which list, so to be made and filed, he shall

 

append a certificate that said list is fully and fairly made, and

 

for said list shall receive such compensation as the County

 

Commissioners of said county shall deem right and proper,

 

not exceeding twenty-five dollars for any one list so made out;

 

and for wilful failure or refusal to perform the duty hereby

 

imposed, the said Treasurer shall forfeit and pay to the State

 

a fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than one

 

thousand dollars, in the discretion of the court, to be recovered

 

by indictment as for a misdemeanor.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the

 

Judges or Judge of the Circuit Court for Talbot County, not

be fairly and impartially selected, with special reference to the

 

intelligence, sobriety and integrity of such persons, and without
