SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That Chapter 25 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
|
Allegany
County Com-
|
Maryland of 1900, entitled "Allegany County," sub-title
|
missioners.
|
"County Commissioners," be and the same is hereby repealed
|
 
|
and re-enacted with amendments.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the general election of
|
 
|
county officers of Allegany County, to be held in said county,
|

November, 1905, and every four years thereafter, a clerk to
|
to be elected
|
the Board of County Commissioners shall be elected by the
|
by popular
vote.

qualified voters of said county, who shall hold the office of
|
 
|
clerk for the term of four years from the time of his election
|

and qualification or until his successor is elected and qualified,
|
 
|
and shall be subject to removal from said office for any wilful
|
 
|
neglect of duty or misbehavior in office at any time by the
|
 
|
County Commissioners of said county; said clerk shall be paid
|
 
|
for his services the sum of twelve hundred dollars per annum,
|
 
|
payable in sums of one hundred dollars at the expiration of
|
 
|
each and every month, by the Treasurer of Allegany County,
|
 
|
from the funds of said county; and said clerk, before entering
|

upon the discharge of his duties, shall give bond to the County

Commissioners of Allegany County in the sum of five thou-

sand dollars for the faithful discharge of his duties.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to prevent persons from unlawfully using or wearing
|
 
|
the insignia, distinctive ribbons, membership rosettes or but-
|
 
|
ton of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That an additional section be added to Article 27 of the
|
 
|
Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments,"
|
 
|
sub-title "Fraud," to be numbered Section 970, to follow
|
 
|
Section 97 A, and to read as follows :
|
 
|
97B. Any person who shall unlawfully wear the insignia,
|
 
|
distinctive ribbons or membership rosette or button of the
|
 
|
