WHEREAS, Since said bill was offered it has been found that
|

the iceboats have been called on for more than the usual yearly

work, and thus adding largely to the cost of running said boats,
|
 
|
and which cost could not be estimated in time to include in the
|

other bill; now, therefore,

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|

thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appro-

priated for the iceboat Annapolis to be paid to the Harbor
|
 
|
Board of Baltimore.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 688.
|

AN ACT to make an appropriation for the iceboat Annapolis.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of ten thousand dollars be and the same
|

is hereby appropriated for the maintenance, repair and opera-

tion of the iceboat Annapolis (owned jointly by the State of
|
polis.

Maryland and the City of Baltimore), the said sum to be paid
|
 
|
to the Harbor Board of Baltimore in two equal annual pay-
|
 
|
ments; provided, that whenever the Governor or the Harbor
|
 
|
Board find it necessary to do so, that the Annapolis (or the
|
 
|
Latrobe) shall keep the bay and its tributaries, when acces-
|
 
|
sible (north of the Choptank river) ; free from obstruction by
|
 
|
ice when this service can be done without detriment to the
|
 
|
commerce of the port of Baltimore.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
