that the expense to be levied upon the property owners through

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That all assessments made under
|
|

and City Council of Cumberland, and shall be collected by

the Mayor and City Council of said city in the same manner

as assessments made under the provisions of its present or

amended charter, and the amount apportioned amongst the

property holders shall constitute a lien thereon until paid;
|
|
 
|
provided, however, that the amount determined upon by said
|
|
 
|
Commissioners to be paid by the Board of County Com-
|
|
 
|
missioners of Allegany County shall be levied for the use of the
|
|
 
|
Mayor and City Council of Cumberland by said County Com-
|
|
 
|
missioners as a special levy under the powers conferred upon
|
|
 
|
said Commissioners by Chapter 323 of the Acts of Assembly
|
|
 
|
of 1902, as soon as the improvements and work herein provided
|
|
 
|
for shall have been reported to the Mayor and City Council
|
|
 
|
of Cumberland as completed, and all amounts allowed by
|
|
 
|
said Commissioners herein as damages, if any, and all costs
|
|
 
|
attending the laying out and extension of the said street and
|
|
 
|
the grading, paving, or macadamizing, sewering or otherwise
|
|
 
|
improving the same, shall be payable by the Mayor and City
|
|
 
|
Council of Cumberland, and it shall be the duty of the Mayor
|
|

to settle for
damages.

the necessary funds to pay for the work and improvements

herein provided for, from time to time as the same progresses,

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

from the date of its passage.
