SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the real estate within said

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Mayor of the City of

sioners.

Beale be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners, with
|
|
 
|
power and authority vested in them, or a majority of them, to
|
|
 
|
lay out, extend, grade, pave or otherwise improve Washing-
|
|
 
|
ton street, from the west side of Lot No. 72 (in Read's addi-
|
|
 
|
tion to the City of Cumberland), in a westerly direction about
|
|
 
|
twenty-one hundred feet to Sulphur Springs Hollow road, at
|
|
 
|
a point to be determined by the Commissioners appointed under
|
|
 
|
this Act.

|
 
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said Commissioners shall
|
|

in the same manner as if they were appointed by the Mayor

Charter of said city, and the ordinances passed thereunder,

for the opening and laying out streets in said city; provided,

however, before commencing said improvements the said Com-

missioners shall file with the City Clerk a copy of the survey
|
|
 
|
of said city limits as extended by the provisions of this Act,
|
|
 
|
together with a plat of such survey, and a plat showing the
|
|
 
|
proposed extension of Washington street, as also profile maps
|
|
 
|
exhibiting the proposed work, accompanied with an estimate
|
|
 
|
of the cost of same, and as soon thereafter as the City Council
|
|
 
|
shall approve said plats, plans and profile maps (or when ap-
|
|
 
|
proved by the City Engineer) the said Commissioners shall
|
|
 
|
immediately thereafter advertise in two newspapers published
|
|
 
|
in the City of Cumberland for sealed bids or proposals for
|
|
 
|
doing all work necessary to be done in connection with the
|
