any question shall arise as to the price charged or the manner

in which any piece or parcel of road has been repaired or con-

structed, it shall he the duty of said Road Commissioner to

examine the same and report in writing to the County Com-
|
 
|
missioners his finding and conclusions in the matter ; and the
|
 
|
said Board of County Commissioners is herebv prohibited
|
 
|
from paying any supervisor's bill which is not approved by
|
 
|
said Road Commissioner ; provided, however, that when any
|
 
|
such bill is not approved by said Road Commissioner, such
|
 
|
supervisor may demand of the County Commissioners an
|
 
|
investigation under oath of witnesses to be by them summoned
|
 
|
as to the manner and character of the work done, and in all
|
 
|
questions thus arising render the provisions of this section.
|
 
|
The said Board of County Commissioners is herebv clothed with
|
 
|
similar powers as the Circuit Court for Queen Anne's County
|
 
|
in relation to the summoning and examination of witnesses,
|

CHAPTER 64.

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Cum-

berland, Maryland, to issue bonds to the amount of twenty-
|
 
|
five thousand dollars and from the proceeds thereof to
|
 
|
establish a paid fire department in said city.
|
 
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
