LAWS 0F MARYLAND.

 

not to exceed fifty acres of land, within two miles of the town

 

of Denton ; should the proceeds arising from the sale of the said

 

Almshouse farm be insufficient to purchase the land and erect,

 

furnish and equip proper buildings thereon, the said County

 

Commissioners are hereby authorized to borrow a sum of

 

money not to exceed the sum of five thousand dollars, at a

 

rate of interest not to exceed six per centum per annum, and

 

the said County Commissioners shall provide for the payment

 

of the amount so borrowed, with accrued interest thereon, in

 

equal annual instalments, so that the debt may be entirely

 

paid within five years from the date the same was created.

 

Should the County Commissioners decide that it is unwise to

 

change the location of the said Almshouse, then they are hereby

 

authorized to construct the necessary buildings on the present

 

Almshouse farm and to equip, furnish and heat the same at

 

a cost not to exceed the sum of five thousand dollars, the debt

 

so created to be paid as hereinbefore set out; and for the pur-

 

poses herein specified the Trustees of the Poor of Caroline

Joint board to
act.

County and the said Board of County Commissioners shall

 

constitute a joint board to supervise the construction, furnish-

 

ing and heating of the said building or buildings.

 

10A. It shall not be lawful for any Trustee of the Poor of

Unlawful to do

Caroline County, during his term of office, to hold, possess,

certain
things.

purchase or acquire any share or interest in any agreement

 

or contract made, entered into or concluded with any party

 

or parties whomsoever by the Trustees of the Poor of Caroline

 

County, in their character and capacity as such Trustees of

 

the Poor, or to have, receive, enjoy or participate, either

 

directly or indirectly, in any of the benefits, profits or emolu-

 

ments of any such agreement or contract, nor to purchase from

 

or sell to the said Trustees of the Poor anything whatsoever.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

 

from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 587.

 

AN ACT authorizing the Baltimore, Sparrow's Point and

 

Chesapeake Railroad Company to build bridges across Jones'

 

or Welshman's creek, North creek and Shallow creek in

 

Baltimore County.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
