1840. by district ballots for Vice President of the United States of America; and upon counting the ballots, it was ascertained that John Tyler, of the State of Virginia, received Ten votes for Vice President of the United States of America. The annex a Lists of the said Persons, with the votes given to the same, are hereby returned by us, the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States, in and for the State of Maryland; in pursuance of the Constitution and Laws of the United States, as having the aforesaid number of votes. Done, at the city of Annapolis, on the First Wednesday in December, being the Second day of the Month, in the year one Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty. In witness whereof, we have hereto subscribed our Hands and affixed our Seals. Lists. List of the Person voted for as President of the United States of America, by the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States, in and for the State of Maryland. William Henry Harrison, of the State of Ohio, received Ten votes as President of the United States of America. |
