113 List of the Person voted for as Vice President of the United States of America by the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland. Andrew Jackson Donalson of the State of Tennessee received eight votes for Vice President of the United States of America. We hereby certify that the above is a true list of the person voted for by the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland and of the number of votes given by him received. Witness our hands and seals this third day of December in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-six. To the three certificates prepared by the Secretary agreeably to the aforegoing form the Secretary attached severally one of the certificates furnished by the Executive authority of this State in obedience to the Act of Congress 1798 ch. 109. The said certificates were then duly signed and sealed by the Electors as were also the lists agreeably to the aforegoing form. They were then folded and sealed and addressed to the President of the Senate of the United States, Washington " with the following memorandum on each Certificate of the United States of America in and for the State of Maryland, December the Third 1856." Whereupon the President delivered one of the said certificates to Edwin H. Webster (one of the Electors) to be by him deposited in the Post Office in the City of Annapolis and one other of the said certificates to Cornelius L. L. |
