MISCELLANIA
Women served as Electors on the winning
team in Maryland tor the first time. The
Democrats carried Baltimore City and all
counties except Carroll, Charles, Garrett,
Harford, Talbot and Wicomico.
Roosevelt was nominated by convention and
won the election although not by as large a
plurality as previously. The Country went
all out for victory, adhering to rigid controls
on prices and wages, censorship; strikes and
lockouts were forbidden. The secret devel-
opment of the atomic bomb was going on at
this time.
