                WILLIAM SMALLWOOD, Esq; Governor.

    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the treasurer
of the western shore shall and he is hereby authorised and required to
pay the several persons, their executors, administrators, assigns, or orders,
or to such of them as shall offer to receive the same, the several sums of
current money allowed to them respectively, as they appear to be settled
and ascertained by the journal of accounts aforesaid.

pay journal of
accounts, &c.

    III.  And be it enacted, That all or any of the public creditors, on the
journal, may have their election to receive a certificate or certificates,
bearing an interest of six per cent. per annum, from the treasurer of the
western shore, signed by him, and expressing the sum of current money
due to such creditor or creditors, which shall be discounted by the collector
in payment of the taxes due on the present assessment acts, or on any
future assessments; or, if not so discounted, the treasurer of the western
or eastern shore shall receive the said certificates, and pay the money due
thereon to the bearer, out of the money now in the treasury, or which
may hereafter be brought into the treasury by taxes or otherwise. 
Creditors may
receive certificates,
&c.

AN ACT to approve, confirm and ratify, the compact made by the commissioners
    appointed by the general assembly of the commonwealth of Virginia, and the commissioners
    appointed by this state, to regulate and settle the jurisdiction and navigation
    of Patowmack and Pocomoke rivers, and that part of Chesapeake bay which lieth within

    the territory of Virginia.
A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act for founding a college on the western shore of
    this state, and constituting the same, together with Washington college on the eastern
    shore, into one university, by the name of The University of Maryland.
A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act for establishing a company for opening and extending
    the navigation of the river Patowmack.
An ACT to revive and aid certain proceedings in the general court of the eastern shore.
An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act for founding a college on the western
    shore of this state, and constituting the same, together with Washington college on
    the eastern shore, into one university, by the name of The University of Maryland.
An ACT to appoint Edward Oldham, and Mary his wife, trustees to take care of the
    person and property of Joseph Ensor, an idiot.  (A private act.)

An ACT to make valid the election of trustees of the poor of Anne-Arundel county.
An ACT for altering the time of holding the courts in Queen-Anne's county.
An ACT to aid conveyances of land improperly enrolled, and for other purposes.
An ACT to extend the time limited for bringing in and settling claims against this state
    by the citizens thereof, and for limiting the time for bringing in and settling claims
    against the said state by citizens of the United States.
An ACT for the relief of Charles Henry Wharton and Henry Pile.  (A private act.)
An ACT for the relief of sundry persons, securities of Thomas Boyer, late sheriff and
    collector of Kent county.
An ACT to confirm the title of a lot of ground in Baltimore-town, in Baltimore county,

    to James McFadon in fee, for the benefit of the heirs of John McFadon, deceased.  (A
    private act.)
An ACT to grant Gabriel Peterson Vanhorn an exclusive right to keep stage-carriages
    on the public road from the river Susquehanna to the river Patowmack.
An ACT for the relief of the poor in Talbot county.
A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act empowering the justices of Montgomery county,

    to assess and levy a sum of money on the inhabitants of said county, for the purposes
    therein mentioned.
An ACT for the relief of certain maimed and disabled officers.
An ACT for extending the causeway through the marsh on the south side of Wiccomico
    river at the lower ferry, and for other purposes therein mentioned.
An ACT to establish a road in Somerset county, to lead from the Bear Swamp road till
    it intersects the road from King's-Branch to Princess-Anne.
A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to establish a road in Worcester county, from the
    Sinepuxent road to Walton Purnell and Annanias Hudson's grist-mill, and from thence
    to Freeman's Branch.
An ACT to authorise the vestry of Stepney parish, in Somerset and Worcester counties,
    to settle and pay the debts of the parish, and for other purposes.
A Supplement to the act, entitled, An Act to appoint a trustee to take care of the person
    and property of George Shipley, senior, who is insane.  (A private act.)
An ACT to empower Vachel Downes to collect the arrears due for public and county assessments
     to Samuel Ridgaway, late sheriff and collector of Queen-Anne's county, deceased.
An ACT to make valid a deed from John Craig to Hugh McBride of Caroline county.
    (A private act.)
