the advice of his Majesties honorable Councill proclaime Publish to and Com-
mand all and Singular his Majesties good Subjects the Inhabitants of this Prov-
ince that they religiously Sett apart and Observe the 27th of August next En-
sueing as a Day of Thanksgiveing for Such the great mercy of Allmighty God in
Vouchsafeing Soe Signall a Deliverance and that the Said day with the Duety
thereof may bee the more Religiously and Desently observed upon this Occation
I doe in his Majesties Name Strictly Charge and Command the Severall Ministers
of the respective Parishes in the Severall Counties of this Province to performe
Devine Service on that day and that your Severall Parishoners intend the Said
Service and Duety and that they obsteine from all bodily Labour upon that day
as they will answer the Contrary att their Perill and to the End that all persons
may have Due notice hereof I doe hereby Command the Severall Sheriffs to pub-
lish this my Proclamation in all Churches Chaples Court howses and all other
Publick places of Meeteing within their respective Countyes Given at the Towne
of Annopolis, Under the broad Scale of the Province this 20th day of July in the
Eleventh year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord William the 3d of England
etc. Annoque Domini 1699.

Parliament.
Joshua Cecell Clerke of Indictments tooke the Oaths appoynted by act of
Parliament.
Mr. William Stone and Mr. John Meryton attorneys of this Court tooke the
oaths appoynted by act of Parliament.
Mr. William Barton High Sheriffe of this County and Benjamin Berry Sub
Sherife tooke the Oaths appoynted by act of Parliament.
Simon Nicholls Cryar of the Said County Court took the Aforesaid Oaths.
The Court adjourned till tomorrow morning 8 of the Clock and then met and
Satt.
Present, Mr. Thomas Hollyday, Mr. Robert Tyler, Mr. John Hawkins, Mr.
Robert Wade, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Mr. James Stoddart.
Mr. Robert Bradley haveing taken the Oath of a Justice of the Peace and the
other Oaths appoynted by act of Parliament tooke his place.
Mr. Robert Tyler gave his Disassent against the Trying of any Cause by reason
the new Laws are not downe from Annopolis allso for the Same reason Mr.
Robert Wade gave his Disassent and both went of the bench.
Allexander Munroe Servant to Christopher Thompson adjudged to bee fifteen
year old.
