County and being brought to barr in his proper person presently it is demanded
of the Said John Robinson how hee would acquitt himselfe of the premisses above
Imposed upon him.
And the Said John Robinson cometh and defendeth the Force and Injury when
etc. and Saith for Plea that hee was Sorry for the offence committed and humbly
Submitted himselfe to the Court. Whereupon all and Sigular the Premisses by
the Court being seen and understood it is Considered that the Said John Robin-
son pay unto our Sovereigne Lord the King his heires and Successors the Sume
of one Hundred pounds of Tobacco and to bee cleared by proclamation for that
offence which was accordingly done hee giveing the Sheriffe Security for all Fees
due to the officers of this Court, [fine]
Ruth Hutcheson appeared to answer unto what Should bee objected against
her for bearing a Basters Child and the Said Ruth Hutcheson Confessed that Shee
was Guillty for the Fact Layd to her Charge.
Whereupon it was Ordered by the Court here that the Sheriff take the Said
Ruth Hutcheson to the whipping poast and there give her twenty Lashes on her
bare back which was accordingly done.
John Penny appeared to answer unto what Should be objected against him hee
beeing commanded thereunto by 2 venires Ishued out against him one of which
was for not clearing the High Wayes hee beeing made this Last year overseer of the
Highwayes of New Scottland Hundred, which the Justices was pleased to take it
in Consideration that whereas the Said Penny was then att that time taken in
Execution for Debt ordered that that Venire Should bee Squasht, the other
Venire was, for him to answer to an Indightment found against the Said John
Penny for Stealeing of hoggs, for proofe of which noe person appeareing the
Clarke of Indightments ordered that a Noce prosecu might bee Entred which was
accordingly done.
Richard Groome with Laurance Russell his Security being bound in a recogniz-
ance of tenn pounds Sterling Each of them for his the Said Groomes fine and Fees
and good beheaviour appeard to answer to what Should be alleadged against him
the Said Groome, noe person appearing the Said Groome was Cleared by procla-
mation from the Indightment formally found against him the Said Russell con-
tinueing his Security for fine and Fees as abovesaid.
Sollomon Stimpson with Charles Beall his Security being bound in a recogniz-
ance of five pounds Sterling Each of them for his the Said Stimpson appearance
this Court and good beheaviour, noe person appearing to alleadge any thing
against the Said Stimpson he was cleared of the Indightment formarly found
against him by proclamation yet Comitted into Custody of the Sheriffe till all
Fees Paid to the officers of this Court.
Thomas Wells with Robert Orme his Securyty being bound in a recognizance
of five pounds Sterling Each of them for his the Said Wells' is appearance this
Court and Good beheaviour, noe person appeareing to alleage any thing against
the Said Wells he was Cleared by proclamation from the Indightment found
against him, he being Committed into the Custody of the Sheriff till all Fees paid
to the officers of this Court.
