Province.

And now here att this day (to witt) the 28th day of March this Same Court
before the Justices of our Sovereigne Lord the King att Charles Towne aforesaid
came the Said Thomas Wells in Custody of the Sheriff of Prince Georges County
and being brought to barr in his Propper Person it is demanded of the Said
Thomas Wells how he would acquitt himselfe of the Premisses imposed upon
him.
And the Said Thomas Wells cometh and defendeth the force and Injury when
and Confessed the Fact and Further Saith that he was Sorry for the offence Com-
mitted.
Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses by the Court being seen and under-
stood it is Considered that the Said Thomas Wells Pay unto our Sovereigne Lord
the King his heires and Successors the Summ of one hundred pounds of Tobacco
for breach of the Peace by the Court adjudged, [fine]
And further it is Ordered by the Court here that the Sheriffe take the Said
Thomas Wells into his Custody and him Safe keep untill hee Shall finde Sufficient
Security for his good beheaviour and for his appearance the next Court to be
held here in June next to answer unto Such things and Mattars as Shall be then
and there objected against him.
And now here att this day (to witt) the 28th day of March 1699 came the Said
Thomas Wells and acknowledged himselfe to be indebted to our Sovereigne Lord
the King in the Just Sume of five pounds Sterling money of England Togather
with Robert Orme his Security and the Said Robert Orme did acknowledge him-
selfe to be indebted to our Sovereigne Lord the Kings use if the Said Thomas
Wells Shall not appear att the next County Court to be held att Charles Towne
the fourth Tuesday in June next and in the mean time to bee of good beheaviour
as well towards our Sovereigne Lord King as all the Good People of this Province
and Espeasially the Justices and officers of this Court.
His Majesty v. David Small
Bee it remembred that the Jurors of our Sovereigne Lord the King that now is
for the bod[y] of Prince Georges County for his Said Majesty upon their Oaths
did present David Small Gent for that he the Said David the th day of 1698
att Charles Towne in the Said County did in the Contempt of the Good Lawes of
this Province and of the Kingdome of England make himselfe Drunke and in
Such manner did abear himselfe towards the Justices of our Said County but
Espeacially towards Mr. Robert Bradley in Taxing him of doeing injustices in his
Office. Against the Tennour and Provision of the Good Laws of God and this
Province And now here att this day (To witt) the 28th day of March 1699 before
the Justices of our Sovereigne Lord the King att Charles Towne aforesaid came
the Said David Small in Custody of the Sheriffe of Prince Georges County and
being brought to Barr in his propper person it is demanded of the Said David
Small how he would acquitt himselfe of the Premisses inpossed upon him.

and humbley Submitted himselfe adding that he was hartily Sorry for the offence
Comitted.
