the force and Injury when etc. and prayeth Lycence to Imparle here untill next
Court and it is granted unto him etc. the Same day is given to the plantife
Likewise. Att which Said next Court (to witt) the 22d day of September Anno-
que Domini 1696 Came the Said John Snellson by Joshua Cecell his attorney
and prayeth that the Said Thomas Nellson to his Decleration may Answer etc.
And the Said Thomas Nellson being Solemly Called Came not but made Default
by which the Said John Snellson Remaineth against the Said Thomas Nellson
thereof undefended etc.
Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the Said John Snellson
Recover against the Said Thomas Nellson the Sume of four hundred and forty
pounds of tobaccoe the Debt due by bill as aforesaid and his damages by Occa-
tion of Deteyneing the Said Debt to two hundred twenty and Six pounds of
tobaccoe to the Said John Snellson of his Assent by the Court here Adjudged
and the Said Thomas Nellson in mercy etc.
Elizabeth Hill plantiffe: Thomas Nellson Defendant.
The plantiffe by Joshua Cecell her Attorney Sues the Defendant for five
hundred pounds of tobaccoe a Certaine Debt for Damages as by Decleration fild
and Account here Sett downe Appeareth. (Viz.)

June the 17th 1696 Then Came Elizabeth Hill before me and made oath that
the above is a true and Just Account and that She never Received any part or
parcell thereof and that the Said Thomas Nellson did promise to pay to the
Said Elizabeth Hill the Said Sume of five hundred pounds of tobaccoe for the
Said pertickeler goods above mentioned. Jurat Coram me.
