selfe to be Indebted unto our Sovereigne Lord the King in the Sume of twenty
pounds of good and Lawfull money of England together with John Browne and
Archable Edmonson his Sureties And the Said John Browne did Acknowledge
himselfe to be Indebted to the Said Sovereigne Lord the King in the Sume of
tenn pounds of Like money and the Said Archable Edmonson in the Sume of
tenn pounds of Like money to bee Leavied on their goods and Chatties Lands
and tenements Respectively for his Majesties use etc. If the Said Joshua Hall
Shall not Appeare at the next County Court to be held here the fourth Tuesday
in November next and in the meane time be of good Abearance as well towards
his Majesty as all the good people of this Province And Espetially towards Mr.
Thomas Hollyday.
The Grand Jury Came into Court and there being no more business for them
was Allowed four hundred pounds of tobaccoe at Mr. Willsons and Soe dis-
charged.
[236] John Davis Came into open Court and Acknowledged that he would make
over the two Acres of Land Lying neare the Church in Charles Towne unto Mr.
William Stone or his heirs etc. for the terme of ninty years According to Agree-
ment betwen them made and According to the Survey of Mr. Edward Batson
when he Should be thereunto by the Said William Stone or his heires thereunto
Required etc.
John Davis Came into open Court and Acknowledged that he would make
over the two Acres of Land Lying neare the Church in Charles Towne unto Joshua
Cecell or his heires etc. for the terme of ninty yeares According to Agreement
between them made and According to the Survey of Edward Batson when he
Should be thereunt[o] by the Said Joshua Cecell or his heires etc. thereunto

John Hawkins, Mr. Robert Wade, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Mr. Thomas Sprigg,
Commissoners.
John Boyde and Hugh Ryley Came into open Court and Acknowledged them-
selves to be Security for Thomas Edmonson to pay the Debt and Cost being two
thowsand three hundred twenty two pounds of tobaccoe by the tenth day of
October next that Francis Harbin Obtained against the Said Thomas Edmonson
Last March Court if Soe be the Said Thomas Edmonson doth not pay it himselfe.
Phillip Gittings plantiffe: Christopher Thompson and Grace his wife Adminis-
tratrix Lawrence Rowland Defendant
Phillip Gittings brought his Majesties writt against the Defendants in a plea
of Debt for Six hundred pounds of tobaccoe due by bill as by bill filed Appeareth.
And the Defendants in their proper persons Came into Court And Acknowledged
the Debt aforesaid to be due to the plantiffe in manner and forme aforesaid.
Therefore it is Considered that the Said Phillip Gittings Recover against the
Said Christopher Thompson and Grace his wife his debt aforesaid and his
Damages by Occation of Deteyning of the Said Debt to pounds of tobaccoe
to the Said Phillip Gittings of his Assent by the Court here Adjudged of the
goods and Chatties which where of the Said Lawrence Rowland at the time of
