be held here the fourth Tuesday in September next to Shew Cause if he or they
have any why the Said tobaccoe or goods Soe Attached Should not be Con-
demned etc. and the Said Edward Brock have Execution etc.
Att which day here Came the Said Edward Brock by William Stone his At-
torney And the Said Richard Edwards Although Solemly Called Came not etc.
And the Sheriffe now Returneth that by vertue of the writt aforesaid he hath
Attached one old Fether bed and boulster att 500 lbs. tobaccoe: one Rugg and
pair of blankets 160 lbs. tobaccoe: one old pestle and morter 30 lbs. tobaccoe: one
Iron Kettle 120 lbs. tobaccoe: one brass Ring 6 lbs. tobaccoe: Appraised by
William Jones and Samuell Brasheere.
Attached by Thomas Greenfeild Sheriffe.
Therefore it is Considered that the aforesaid goods amounting to the Sume of
Eight hundred and Sixteen pounds of tobaccoe be Condemned And that the
Said Edward Brock have Execution for the Same goods Soe as aforesaid Attached
etc.
Hugh Furguson Desiers his marke may be Recorded (Viz.) an underkeele on
the Right Eare and a Cropp on the Left Eare.
[233] To the Worshipfull the Justices of Prince Georges County the Humble
Petition of Hannah Edwards humbly Sheweth.
That your poore petitioner haveing had a Child of Sarah Sumers and bred it
up from its infancy as my owne Child and as I am Informed the Said Sumers
now Sarah Smart unjustly intends to take this Child from me without any Con-
sideration of my greate Care in bringing him up and provideing for him
Notwithstanding Likewise the Estate of my husband is Seized on at this present
time for his Education to the vallue of Sixteen hundred pounds of tobaccoe and
Upwards your poore petitioner Requests only Justice at your hands and your
petitioner as in Duty bound Shall for Ever pray.
Anthony Smart and Sarah his wife Came into Court and binds the above Said
boy in the above petition Mentioned unto Archable Edmonson untill he Arrives
to the Age of twenty one yeares he being now Eleven year old the next Novem-
ber And the Said Archable in open Court Acknowledges to pay to Mr. Samuell
Magruder Sixteen hundred pounds of tobaccoe And Likewise promises to give
the abovsaid boy a yeare Schooling and to doe his Endeavour to Learne him the
trade of a Carpenter and to give him two Suites of Cloaths at the Expiration of
his terme of time.
Upon which it is ordered by the Court here that the Said Archable Edmonson
fetch the Said boy from Mrs. Edwards by the Last of October next.
Mr. Thomas Hollyday went of the bench.
Upon a Motion of Mr. William Bladen Clerke of Indictments It is ordered
that the Sheriffe Summonds a Grand Jury etc.
Ordered that the Sheriffe Summonds David Small, James Stodart, Josias Tow-
good, and Henry Bonner for his Majestic against Hugh Ryly and Joshua Hall.
And the Sheriffe now bringeth here his pannell of the Grand Jury and the
Jurors thereon impanelled being Called Came (Viz.)
