Constitute ordaine and appoint you the severall and respective persons to be
Judges as aforesaid. And therefore We doe Command you that you dilligently
attend the keeping of the Peace Laws and Orders and all and singular other the
premisses and that1 certain dayes appointed by an Act of Assembly of this
Province in such Cases made and provided and at such place which you or any
Foure or more of you as aforesaid shall in that behalfe you make inquiry upon
the premisses and perform and fullfill the same in form aforesaid doing therein
what to Justice appertaineth according to the Laws Orders and reasonable
Customs of this our Province and therefore we Comand the Sherriff of our said
County of Prince Georges County by virtue of these presents that at the place and
on the dayes aforesaid you or any such Four or more of you as aforesaid shall
make knowne unto him to give his attendance on you and (if need require)
to Cause to come before you or any such Four or more of you as aforesaid such
and so many [good] and lawfull men of your County by whom the Truth of the
premisses may the better be known and enquired of. [3] And lastly We have
appointed William Cooper of Prince Georges County Gentleman to be Clerk
and Keeper of the Records in this your sa[id] County and therefore you shall
Cause to be brought before you on [the] dayes and at the place aforesaid the
Writts Precepts Process and Indictments to your said Court and Jurisdiction
belonging that the same may be inspected and by a due Course of Law be
determined as aforesaid Witness our Trusty and well beloved Francis Nicholson
Esq. Captain Generall and Governor in Cheife in and over our Province an[d]
Territory of Maryland the Two and Twentith day of Aprill in the Eight yeare of

Ireland King Defender of the faith etc. To Thomas Holliday, William Hutchison
and William Barton of Prince Georges County Gentlemen Greeting We doe
hereby authorize and impower you the said Will[iam] Hutchison and William
Barton or either of you to administer [the Oath] appointed by Act of Parliament
to be taken instead of the Oaths of All[e]giance and Supremacy as also the
Oath of Justice of the Peace to the s[aid] Thomas Holliday, and you the said
Thomas Holliday having taken the sa[id] Oaths are to administer the same unto
the said William Hutchi[son] and William Barton and the rest of the Com-
missioners and Justices of you[r] Said County respectively as they are named in
the within Commission, an[d] that you and every of you doe subscribe the
Test For which this shall be your sufficient Authority hereof faile not and when
you have so don[e] you are to Certify the same under your hands and scales
unto us in the high Court of Chancery Witness our Trusty and well beloved

over our P[ro]vince and Territory of Maryland the Two and Twentith day of
