154 PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY

But the Said Jacob Bourneveetch Either by himselfe or by an Attorney although
Sollemly Called Came not but made default. Whereupon the Said Henry Jowles
by his Attorney prayeth Judgment against the Defendant for his Debt aforesaid
together with his Cost in this behalfe Expended and it is granted unto him etc.
Therefor it is Considered that the [said] Henry Jowles Recover against the
Said Jacob Bourneveetch the Sume of four thowsand Six hundred and ninteen
pounds of tobaccoe his Debt aforesaid and his Damages by Occation of Deteyn-
ing the Said Debt to five hundred forty Six pounds of tobaccoe to the Said
Henry Jowles of his Assent by the Court here Adjudged etc. and the Said Jacob
Bourneveetch in mercy etc.

Ordered by the Court that Charles Tracey and William Groome be Sumoned
to know if they Intended to keep Ordinary another year whereupon they
Appeared and desired of the Court that they might Continue Ordinary keeping
the Ensueing yeare and it was granted unto them and it was further ordered
that the Clerke Lett the Said Tracey and Groome have a Licence for the Ensue-
ing yeare together with a Coppy of the Rates of Lickquours.

[138] Ordered by the Court that whereas Edward and Dudly Carleton Last
Court Obtained A Judgment against George Young by Default of the Said
George Young and now here in Court Came Ninian Beall and John Short and
made oath that they did beleive the tobaccoe was paid by the Said Young to
the Carletons and the Court by the Circumstances mentioned in the Said two
Wittneses oaths did beleive the Same whereupon it was ordered that the Said
Judgment Obtained Last Court as aforesaid Should be Remitted the Said Young
paying all the Cost of Suite.

Walter Willett made oath that he Attended as an Evidence for Hugh Furgu-
son against Christopher Thompson five dayes Whereupon it is ordered that the
Said Furguson pay the Said Willett one hundred and fifty lbs. of tobaccoe for
his Said Attendance.

John Joyce Came into Court And Acknowledged himselfe Indebted unto
Thomas Taney in the Sume of Eleven hundred fifty one pounds of tobaccoe
and doe Acknowledge that he will pay four hundred pounds this yeare and the
remainder the next yeare. and Desired that theire may be Judgment Entred
for the Same.

Therefore it is Considered that the Said Thomas Taney Recover against the
Said John Joyce the Sume of Eleven hundred fifty one pounds of tobaccoe to
be paid in manner and forme aforesaid together with what Cost Shall bee due
for the Same etc.

Then Came John Dossett into open Court and did Acknowledge himselfe
Indebted unto Thomas Greenfeild Administrator of the goods and Chatties of
Richard Charlett Deceased in the Sume of Six hundred and ninteen pounds of
tobaccoe due to the Estate of the Said Richard Charlett And desired that their
might be Judgment Entred against him for the Same.

Therefore it is Considered that the Said Thomas Greenfeild Administrator
aforesaid Recover against the Said John Dossett the Sume of Six hundred and
ninteen pounds of tobaccoe the debt Acknowledged as aforesaid together with
all Such Cost as Shall be due about the Same by the Court Adjudged etc.
