JANUARY, 1696/7 COURT 113

Christopher Baynes desiers his marke may be Recorded (Viz.) a Cropp and
hole on Each Eare.

William Baynes desiers his mark may be Recorded (Viz.) a Cropp on the
Right Eare and a Cropp and two Slitts on the Left Eare.

Hester Balls petition against Edward Ball formerly Entered was caused to be
Read and it was the Opinion of the Court here that the Said petition was good
and the order thereon made was good Likewise and thereupon it was ordered
that a Scire facias Should Issue forth against the next Court to Shew Cause why
the tobaccoe was not paid to the Said Hester Ball According to order of this
Court the Said Keniston being bound with the Said Edward Ball for the pay-
ment thereof.

Command was given to the Sheriffe that he Cause the grand Jury by him
Sumoned to Come into Court and the pannell thereof being Returned by the
Sheriffe and the Jurors therein Impannneled being Called Likewise Came (to
witt).

[102] Edward Brock, Samuell Magruder, John Chittam, Robert Clarke, Edward
Millsteed, Allexander Harbert, Edward Willett, John Cozens, John Demall,
Joshua Hall, Allexander Beall, James Moore, John Soper, Christopher
Thompson, John Browne, planter, John Ramsey, John Davis, Edward Dawson,
Archable Edmonson, John Henery, Joseph West, William Thompson, James
Cogwell, Edward Fenix: the grand Jurymen.

Who haveing taken the oath of Grand Jurymen and all of them Signed to
the Addreses to his Majesty as by order of Councill was Commanded. And
there being no presentments brought to them was discharged.

Then did the Court Adjourne untill to morrow morning 8 a Clock and then
met and Satt as followeth. (Viz.)

Present. Mr. John Wighte, Mr. Robert Bradley, Mr. David Small, Mr. William
Tanyhill, Mr. Robert Tyler, Comisoners.

William Ludwell Appeared upon his Recognizance gave the Last Court and
not any body Appearing against him was Cleared by proclamation paying his
Fees.

Ordered by the Court that the Presmasters of this County Continue in their
places until their year is Expired.

Ordered by the Court here that the Attorneys of this Court pays all their
Clyants Fees that Lives out of this County unto the Officers of this Court.

Thomas Duley desired his Appearance may be Entred to his Recognizance
gave the last Court And not any body Appearing against him was Cleared by
proclamation he paying his Fees.

Mr. William Barton Came and Satt Mr. Robert Bradley went of the bench.
Mr. Thomas Hollyday Likewise Came and Satt.

Appearances and Imparlances in January Court Annoque Domini 1696 [1697].
The defendants by Cleborn Lomax their Attorney to these 3 Actions Appears
