CHAPTER 58.
AN ACT to repeal the seventh section of the fifty-
seventh article of the Code of Public General Laws
of this State, title "Limitation of Actions" and
* to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION \. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section seven of article fifty -seven of
the Code of Public General Laws, title " Limitation
of actions" be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, so that the same shall read as follows:

7. Whenever any person, may die indebted, and
his interest in real estate may be liable to be pro-
ceeded against for the payment of his debts by reason
of the insufficiency of his personal estate, the opera-
tion of this article both at law and in equity, shall be
suspended in relation to the heirs and devises of such
debtor for the period of eighteen months from the
death of such decedent, and where any debts of such
person so dying indebted have been or may be paid
by his executor, or administrator, and the real estate
of such decedent is proceeded against for the payment
of his debts, the operation of this article both, at law
and in equity, shall be suspended in relation to the
heirs and devises of such deceased debtor, as to the
claims so paid until the lapse of eighteen months after
the filing of said bill.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
