LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Increase capi-
tal stock.

SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That for the pur-
pose of making said branch road as hereinbefore au-
thorized, the said president and directors are author-
ized to increase their capital stock by adding thereto
ten thousand dollars, and to that end they are hereby
authorized to open subscription books for such ad-
ditional capital often thousand dollars in shares of
twenty dollars each, and they are hereby vested with
all the powers with reference to taking such subscrip-
tions and enforcing the payment of the same, given
in said original charter for the payment of the sub-
scriptions to the original capital.

tions separate

SEC. 15. And be it farther enacted. That the said pre-
sident and directors are directed and required to
keep the subscriptions for the additional capital
hereinbefore authorized, for the purpose of extend-
ing said road, separate and distinct from the sub-
scriptions for the additional capital hereinbefore au-
thorized for the purpose of building the said branch
to said road, and the money realized from subscrip-
tions for the one purpose shall not be applied to the
other, until the purpose for which any subscription
shall have been taken, shall be completed.

SEC. 16. And be it enacted, That the said president
and directors are hereby authorized to increase their
capital stock for the purpose of their said original
road, and for general purposes, by adding thereto
the sum of eight thousand dollars, and to that end
they are hereby authorized to open subscription
books for such additional capital of eight thousand
dollars in shares of twenty dollars each, and they are
hereby vested with all the powers with reference to
taking such subscriptions and enforcing the payment
of the same, given in said original charter for the
payment of the subscriptions to the original capital.

SEC. 17. And be it further enacted, That the said
president and directors shall not in any one year
divide and distribute amongst the stockholders an
amount of the money received for tolls, exceeding
ten per centum on the stock held by them respec-
tively, but shall apply the residue of earnings, after
making such dividend, to the further improvement
of said road, its bridges, culverts, and keeping the
