CHAPTER 52.

AN ACT supplementary to an act entitled " an act
to incorporate the 'Orphan House and Episcopal
Free School Society of All Saints' Church, 'in
Frederick town, " passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter one
hundred and forty-seven, and to its supplement
passed at January session eighteen hundred and
fifty-four, chapter one hundred and four.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, certain ladies of All Saints' Church. in
Frederick town, associated by the name of the Or-
phan House and Episcopal Free School Society of All
Saints' Church, in Frederick town, for the benevolent
purpose of rendering charitable aid, as far as it was
in their power, to destitute female orphans, and to
establish a free school for the education of destitute
females, and for the purpose of carrying into effect
their benevolent plans, prayed that trustees might be
incorporated with power to receive, hold and dispose
of contributions, donations, gifts, grants, devises and
bequests of all kinds of property, estate and effects
to a limited amount in trust for the purposes afore-
said, and

Preamble.

WHEREAS, by an act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter one hun-
dred and forty-seven, the said trustees were incor-
porated in the name of the "trustees of the Orphan
House and Episcopal Free School Society of All
Saints' Church, Frederick town, " and by that name
have perpetual succession, and be capable in law to
receive and hold in trust, and of using and disposing
of, as thereinafter provided, all kinds of gifts, grants,
conveyances, donations, devises and bequests of estate
real, personal and mixed property, and effects not
exceeding in amount, twenty thousand dollars,

Preamble.

AND WHEREAS, it is represented to this General
Assembly, that the said Orphan House and Episcopal
Free School Society of All Saints' Church, in Fred-
erick town, has been eminently successful under the
management of the ladies of All Saints' Church, from
the year eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, to the
