JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

WHEREAS, The State of Maryland is prohibited by

 

the constitution of eighteen hundred and sixty-

couraging others to make investments therein,

 

and having chief control thereof, from eighteen

 

hundred and twenty-eight to eighteen hundred

additional aid thereto, has caused the work to

 

languish, although aid has been rendered to

 

others, and less meritorious works since that date;

 

and believing as we do, that it is not only the

 

duty, but the interest of the Government of the

 

United States, and the Congress thereof, to come

 

forward and aid in the completion of this work;

 

therefore,

 
   

1. Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland

 

That our Senators and Representatives in the Con-

Potomac River from Cumberland, Maryland, to the

 

mouth of the Savage River in the same State.

ridge Landing, near the crossing of the Baltimore
