to alter and amend certain sections and add addi-

tional sections to article twelve of the Code of Public
|
|
 
|
Local Laws," relating to Havre-de-Grace, in Har-
|
|
 
|
ford county, be and it is hereby repealed and re-en-
|
|
 
|
acted and certain additional sub-sections added to
|
|
 
|
the said article, under the sub-title Havre-de-Grace,
|
|
 
|
so as to read as follows :
|
|
 
|
60. The said bailiff shall give bond, to be approved
|
|

by the county commissioners as other constables, for
|
|
 
|
the faithful performance of his duty as constable and
|
|
 
|
also bond, to the commissioners of the said town, for
|
|
 
|
the faithful performance of his duty as town bailiff
|
|
 
|
and as the collector of the town tax, and the faithful
|
|
 
|
performance of such duties as may be imposed upon
|
|
 
|
him by the ordinances of the said commissioners;
|
|
 
|
and if the said bailiff shall prove incompetent to per-
|
|
 
|
form the duties of his office, or shall fail or neglect
|
|
 
|
to discharge the same to the satisfaction of the com-
|
|
 
|
missioners of the said town, the said commissioners
|
|

shall have power to remove him from said office and
|
|

appoint a successor who shall qualify in the manner
|
|
 
|
herein provided for.

|
 
|
SUB-SEC. 1. The Commissioners of Havre-de-Grace
|
|
 
|
shall have power to pass ordinances, to suppress all
|
|
Powers.

disorderly meetings, to prevent firing guns, squibs or
|
|
 
|
any kinds of fire-arms or fire-works in said town; to
|
|
 
|
suppress and abate all nuisances, to punish parties
|
|
 
|
for exposing for sale or selling unsound provisions.

|
 
|
to prevent geese, hogs, goats, horses, cows and calves
|
|
 
|
from going at large, to prevent any 'immoderate
|
|
 
|
riding or driving through the streets in any carriage
|
|
 
|
stage, cart or other vehicle or on horse back, so as
|
|
 
|
to endanger the lives, limbs or property of citizens
|
|
 
|
of said town, or disturb the quiet enjoyment of the
|
|
 
|
streets and throughfares, to prevent the parading or
|
|
Powers.
|
indecent exhibition of any stud horse, through the
|
|
 
|
streets or the exhibition of any indecent or immoral
|
|
 
|
shows in said town, and to pass all other ordinances
|
|
 
|
or by-laws necessary to give effect and operation to
|
|
 
|
the powers vested in the said corporation, and to
|
|
 
|
preserve order and secure property and persons from
|
|
 
|
violence, danger and destruction, and may impose
|
|
 
|
fines, penalties and forfeitures for the breach there-
