no event shall said clerk receive more than the salary
now allowed by the constitution; and the compensa-
tion to be paid the clerk to transcribe said dockets,
shall not exceed per month the sum now paid the
index clerk in said office.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 35.

AN ACT to repeal an act passed at the session of
eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter one hun-
dred and forty-eight, entitled " an act to add ad-
ditional sections to the act of eighteen hundred
and sixty-five, chapter thirty-six, entitled 'an act
to incorporate the German Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore, ' and also to repeal sections two,
three and six of the said act of eighteen hundred
and sixty-five, chapter thirty-six, entitled 'an act
to incorporate the German Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore, ' and to re-enact said three
sections with amendments. ''

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the act passed at the session -of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy, chapter one hundred and
forty-eight, entitled "an act to add additional sections
to the act of eighteen hundred and sixty-five, chapter
thirty-six, entitled 'an act to incorporate the German
Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore, '" be and the
same is hereby repealed.

Repealed and
Re-enacted.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the second and third
and sixth sections of the act passed at the session of
eighteen hundred and sixty-five, chapter thirty-six,
