LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

CHAPTER 240.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council

 

of Baltimore to issue the Bonds of the City of

 

Baltimore to an amount not exceeding the sum of

 

seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars, to pro-

 

vide means for extending and improving the

 

Court House in said city.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the Major and City Council of Bal-

timore be, and it is hereby authorized to issue bonds

thousand dollars for the purpose of providing means

 

for the extension and improving, and erection of a

 

new Court House in said City of Baltimore, in pur-

 

suance of such plan as may hereafter be provided by

 

such ordinance as may be proper for the purpose;

 

the said bonds to be for the sum of one hundred

 

dollars each, payable at such time and in such man-

 

ner, and on such terms and conditions as may be

 

prescribed by such ordinance, and to be issued from

 

time to time as the same may be required in the

 

course of the work of said improvement and erection;

provided that none of said bonds shall be issued

 

until such ordinance as the mayor and city council

 

may or shall pass in the premises shall have been

 

approved by a majority of the legal voters of the

 

City of Baltimore; and provided that the said bonds

 

shall be redeemable in not less than thirty years

 

after their date and be transferable as other city

 

bonds.

In force .

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall

 

take effect from and after the date of its passage.
