CHAPTER 229.
AN ACT to repeal any supposed exemptions of the Capital Stock of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, or of any of its branch roads, or its or their property, real, personal or mixed, from taxation for State, County or Municipal purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That anything in any act of the General Assembly of Maryland, that may have been or might be in the future, taken or construed as exempting from taxation for State, county and municipal purposes, or any of them, any of the property, real, personal or mixed, of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, or any of its branch roads, or the capital stock of said company, or of any of its branch roads be, and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said company shall by resolution of its stockholders in general meeting assembled, on or before the first day of October, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy-six, declare its assent to the terms of this act, then the said company shall from the time of such assent given, thenceforth forever, be relieved from the payment into the treasury of this State, of one-fifth of the passenger receipts over the Washington Branch of the said company's road.
