                                    CHAP. LXXXIV.
A Supplement to an Act (a) entitled, An act to enlarge the powers of
    the Trustees of the Poor in the several Counties therein designated.

Passed Jan. 6, 1810.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
it shall and may be lawful for the trustees of the poor in the several
counties of this state in which poor-houses have been established,
Harford county, Queen-Anne's county, Dorchester county, Anne-Arundel
county, Caroline county, Cecil county and Calvert county,
excepted, and they are hereby authorised and empowered, in their
discretion, to keep any number of out-pensioners, not exceeding
twenty in any one county at one time, in addition to the number
already provided for by the act to which this is a supplement, upon
the same terms, and under the same circumstances, as are prescribed
by the said original act; Provided, that nothing in this act shall
be construed to limit the number of out-pensioners which the trustees
of the poor in Somerset county are authorised as aforesaid to
keep under an act of assembly passed at November session, eighteen
hundred and eight *, entitled, An act to enlarge the powers of
the trustees of the poor in Somerset county.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the trustees of the poor of the several
counties in which this act is intended to operate, are hereby
authorised and empowered, if in their judgment they shall think
it most advantageous for the interest of the county, and for the accommodation
of the poor of said county, to contract with any person
or persons for the maintenance of said poor by the year, the
said person or persons giving bond, with security, to the trustees
of the poor of said county, in such penalty as said trustees may require,
for the faithful performance of the conditions and obligations
thereof.

An Act to authorise the drawing of a Lottery in Frederick-Town for
    the purpose of paving Market-Street in said Town.

Passed Jan. 6, 1810.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for Roger Nelson, Seth Clark, Richard
Brooke, Jacob Medtart, Henry Steiner, John McPherson, Michael
Baltzell, George Frisler, Henry Bantz, Casper Mantz, Laurence
Brengle, Stephen Stoner, John Bayly and Frederick Heisely, or
a majority of them, to propose a scheme of a lottery or lotteries
for raising a sum of money, not exceeding eight thousand dollars,
and sell and dispose of the tickets in said lottery, and they are hereby
authorised to draw said lottery; Provided, that the said Roger 
Nelson, Seth Clark, Richard Brooke, Jacob Medtart, Henry Steiner,
John McPherson, Michael Baltzell, George Frisler, Henry
Bantz, Casper Mantz, Laurence Brengle, Stephen Stoner, John
Bayly and Frederick Heisely, or such majority of them as shall undertake
Scheme may be
proposed—bond to
