MARYLAND, sc.

At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun
    and held at the City of Annapolis, on Monday the 5th
    of June, in the year of our Lord 1809, and ended on the
    10th of the said month,

                            HIS EXCELLENCY,

        EDWARD LLOYD, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

    THE FOLLOWING LAWS WERE ENACTED, TO WIT:

CHAP. 1.

Passed June 9.

                                    CHAPTER I.
An Act for the relief of Dennis Connell, of Charles County.  Lib.
                                TH. No. 2, fol. 125.
Levy authorised
for his support.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the justices of the levy court of Charles county be and they are
hereby directed, at their meeting for the purpose of laying their
county levy, to assess and levy annually, so long as the same shall
be necessary, a sum of money, not exceeding forty dollars, on the
assessable property of the said county, for the support and maintenance
of the aforesaid Dennis Connell, to be collected as other
county charges are, and paid to the said Dennis Connell, or his 
order.

                                          CHAP. II.
An Act to confirm the Location of the Turnpike Roads therein mentioned.

Road from Baltimore
through
Reister's town
confirmed.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the road from Baltimore, through Reister's-town, to the Pennsylvania
line, towards Hanover-town, as at present located, turnpiked
and licensed, be and the same is hereby confirmed.
From Reister's
town through
Westminster confirmed.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the road from Reister's-town,
through Westminster, as at present located, turnpiked and licensed,
be and the same is hereby confirmed.
Nothing in this act
to affect certain
suits now depending,
&c.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That nothing contained in this act shall
be construed to affect any suit or suits now depending against the
president, managers and company, of the Baltimore and Reister's-town
turnpike road, their contractor or contractors, or against the
president, managers and company, of the Baltimore and Frederick-town
turnpike road, their contractor or contractors, for any
supposed trespass or trespasses committed by them in making and
turnpiking the said road.

confirmed.
    4.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the turnpike road from the city
of Baltimore, through New-Market, to and through Frederick-town,
and from thence to and through Middle-town, and from thence to
Boonsborough, as at present located, turnpiked and licensed, be
and the same is hereby confirmed.
