Officers salaries. |
LAWS OF MARYLAND.
2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the following officers of civil government for the time being shall
be entitled to receive at the rate of the following salaries, in current
money, for the ensuing year, to wit: The treasurer of the
western shore, two thousand dollars; the treasurer of the eastern
shore, four hundred and fifty dollars; the auditor, eight hundred
dollars; the clerk of the council, eight hundred dollars; the clerk
of the senate, one hundred and fifty dollars; the clerk of the house
of delegates, three hundred dollars; the printer to the state, twelve
hundred dollars; the messenger to the council, two hundred and
fifty dollars. |
Unappropriated
monies to be first
applied to payment
thereof. |
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all monies which
shall remain
in the treasury, after discharging the journal of accounts, and all
unappropriated money which may come into the treasury, be first
applied to the payment of the civil list for the ensuing year. |

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the time limited for the president, managers and company, of the
Falls turnpike road, to complete the said road, be and the same is
hereby extended to the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
thirteen. |

Preamble. |
WHEREAS by the construction which has been given
by some of
the courts of this state to the third section of an act, supplementary
to an act to which this is also a supplement, passed at November
session, eighteen hundred and seven, it appears that the object
of the legislature thereby contemplated has not been accomplished;
therefore, |
Imprisoned debtor
may, without
previous notice,
make application
to court or judge,
who may discharge
him from
imprisonment, &c. |
2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
any imprisoned debtor may hereafter, immediately upon his or her
confinement, without any previous notice, make application, by
petition in writing, to the court of the county in which he or she
shall be so imprisoned, or to any judge thereof, upon his or her
complying with the other provisions of the said original act, and
the supplements thereto, except that provision which requires the
assent of two thirds of his or creditors, and it shall thereupon be
lawful for the said court or judge to order the sheriff, or other officer
in whose custody he or she shall be, to being him or her before
such court or judge, at a certain time in the said order to be appointed,
for the purpose of taking the oath, or affirmation, in the
said original act prescribed to be taken by an insolvent debtor, and |
