CHAP. 51.
Commissioners to
execute certain
duties. |
LAWS OF MARYLAND.
2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the commissioners aforesaid be and they are hereby authorised and
directed to execute, without delay, the several duties required of
them by the act to which this is a supplement, in as full and ample
manner as if the contract aforesaid had never taken place. |
Extension of time
limited for return
of money. |
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the time limited
for the return of
the money so as aforesaid advanced, be and the same is hereby extended
to the first day of June next, and if the said sum of money,
together with the interest that may accrue, be not paid to the said
commissioners, or to such person or persons as they, or a majority
of them, may appoint to receive the same, on or before the said first
day of June, that then the said commissioners, or a majority of them,
are hereby authorised and directed to sue for and recover the same. |
Court may levy
money. |
4. AND, whereas the sum of money so as aforesaid
levied and
collected may be insufficient for the purposes for which it was intended;
therefore, BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court of the county
aforesaid shall, upon application of the said commissioners, or a
majority of them, levy such further sum on the assessable property
of said county, not exceeding six hundred pounds, as by the said
commissioners, or a majority of them, shall be required, provided
such application be made to the levy court on or before the first
Monday in June, in the year eighteen hundred and two. |

5. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners
aforesaid
shall be allowed such compensation for their services as to the levy
court shall seem reasonable, not exceeding two dollars per day to
each of the said commissioners. |
