CHAP. XXXIII.
An Act granting leave to the Trustees of the Lower West Nottingham
Congregation, in Cecil County, and their Successors,
to receive a
Deed or Deeds for and hold the Lands therein mentioned.

Preamble. |
WHEREAS the trustees of Lower West Nottingham presbyterian
congregation, by their petition to this general assembly have represented,
that many years since a division took place in said congregation,
and in consequence thereof two houses of worship were
erected, with a grave-yard attached to each, which hath been used
for those purposes for many years; that a re-union of said congregation
hath since taken place, and that they have, at considerable
expense, erected a meeting-house and session-house, and have also
enclosed a burial-ground on a lot of land more central to said congregation;
that they have been lately incorporated according to law,
and the trustees have prayed this general assembly for leave that
themselves and their successors may hold, in trust, for ever, for
the sole and exclusive use of said congregation, the above three
lots of land, on each of which there is a burial-ground, and containing
in the whole five acres and twenty-three perches and an
half perch of land; therefore, |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the leave of the legislature is hereby given to James Cummings,
James Evans, David Edmiston, Elihu Hall, Robert Evans, and
others, holding lands, in trust, for the use of Lower West Nottingham
presbyterian congregation, to convey to the trustees of
said congregation, and their successors, in fee, by deed or deeds
of bargain and sale, to be executed, acknowledged and recorded,
according to law, all and singular the above three lots of land, containing
five acres of twenty-three perches and five-tenths of a perch
of land, on one of which lots is erected a house of worship and
session-house, and includes a new burial-ground, the other two lots
being used as burial-grounds only by said congregation, and the
said trustees, and their successors, are hereby authorised and empowered
to hold the same for the purposes aforesaid for ever hereafter. |

Burch to keep an
ordinary.
Proviso. |
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the
judges of Worcester county court, in court sitting, or any one of
them out of court, be and are hereby empowered and authorised,
from time to time, to grant license to Daniel Burch to keep an ordinary
on the North Beach, contiguous to Sinepuxent Inlet, in
said county, for which license the said Daniel Burch is hereby relieved
from the payment of the sum of money required by law;
Provided always, that the said Daniel Burch shall first enter into
the recognizance prescribed by law to be entered into by ordinary
keepers. |
